These rules apply wherever players meet: multiplayer and ranked matches, lobbies, chat, whispers and parties, the forum, usernames and profiles, and the maps and mods players upload. They are part of the Terms of Service. The short version: play fair, be decent to each other, and only share what is yours to share.
1. Treat People Decently
- No harassment, bullying, threats or encouraging others to pile on someone.
- No hate speech or slurs, and no attacks on people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or age.
- No sexual content, and nothing that sexualises minors in any way.
- Do not share anyone's private information, such as a real name, address, phone number or private messages, without their permission.
- Do not pretend to be another player, a moderator or the developer.
- Trash talk about the match is fine. Abuse aimed at the person is not.
2. Play Fair
- No cheats, hacks, bots or other outside tools that give an advantage in multiplayer or ranked play.
- No arranging results: no win trading, throwing matches, or playing on someone else's account to raise their rank.
- If you find a bug that gives an advantage, report it on the forum or by email rather than using it against other players.
- Do not deliberately ruin a match for your own team or disrupt other people's games.
- Matches where the Game's built-in cheat codes are used do not count toward your record.
3. Names and Profiles
Usernames, avatars and anything else on your profile follow the same rules as chat. Do not pick a name that is offensive, that impersonates someone, or that is meant to mislead. We may ask you to change a name or change it ourselves.
4. The Forum
- Post in the category that fits, and keep threads on their subject.
- No spam, advertising, or posts made only to drop a link.
- Criticism of the game is welcome. Make it about the game, not about other posters.
- One account per person. Do not make a new account to get around a restriction.
5. Maps, Mods and Uploads
- Only upload what you made or have permission to share. Do not upload art, music, models or maps taken from other games or other people.
- Nothing that tries to harm players or their devices, collect their data, or send them somewhere misleading.
- No illegal, hateful or sexual content in maps, mods, images, names or descriptions.
- Describe your map or mod honestly, so players know what they are starting.
If you believe something uploaded here infringes your copyright, the "Copyright Complaints" section of the Terms of Service says how to tell us.
6. Reporting a Problem
Use the Report button on a forum post or on a community map. For anything else, including behaviour in a match or in chat, email [email protected] with what happened, who was involved and when. Screenshots help. Please do not retaliate in kind.
7. What Happens When a Rule Is Broken
Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before, we may:
- Remove a post or image, or unpublish a map or mod.
- Give a warning.
- Restrict access to the forum, to uploading or to ranked play.
- Apply ranked penalties, void matches, or correct or reset a rating.
- Suspend or close an account.
Serious cases, such as threats, cheating in ranked play or harmful uploads, can lead straight to suspension without a warning.
8. Appeals
If you think a decision was wrong, email [email protected] from the address on your account and explain why. Shards of Stone is run by one person, so a reply can take a few days.
9. Changes to These Rules
We may update these rules as the community grows. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
