#1Depths of Stone is the dungeon crawler. One hero, no base, and a dungeon you haven't seen before. It's playable, but it's still a work in progress, so expect rough edges.
Setting up a run
Pick Depths of Stone from the mode select, then choose:
- Your hero
- A dungeon theme (Dwarven Hold, Goblin Warrens, Flooded Crypt, Molten Forgeworks, Fungal Cavern, Undead Catacomb, Ratmen Undercity) or Random
- Which faction holds the dungeon, and which of their heroes is the final boss
- How you win: defeat the boss (the default), clear the dungeon, or escape
It runs in 3D only.
Things worth knowing
- Doors block sight. Right-click to open or close one. A creep that's seen you will smash a door you shut on it.
- Mini-bosses are scaled up versions of normal units hiding in mid-dungeon rooms. They drop better loot.
- Smash the furniture. Crates, bookshelves, sarcophagi and the rest can drop gold, gear and consumables.
- Health regen pauses for a few seconds after you're hit. Eat and drink between fights instead: rations for health, ale for mana.
- Eating and drinking take a few seconds, and moving or getting hit interrupts them.
- Abilities share a short global cooldown, about a second, so you can't dump your whole kit at once.
Still being worked on
- Two ways to progress: runs that start fresh every time, and a character who keeps their level and gear between runs
- Co-op parties of up to five, with players and bots
- Final balance on the bosses
Post runs, builds and boss strategies here. If a boss killed you in a way that felt unfair, I want to know which one and how.
