#1Version 0.3.8 · Released 6 Oct 2026 · Download
The first desktop release since 0.3.4, and the biggest change to how the game looks since it went 3D. The browser version has had most of this for a week or two already.

Highlights
- New art for every army: 105 ground units, 35 flyers, the ships and 96 heroes. More
- New abilities for all 96 heroes. More
- The Lizardmen are now the Kethraki, and a few units are renamed. More
- Shards of Fate: 3D pack opening, a shop, daily rewards and hundreds of new cards. More
- The Forge can place every prop in the game. More
- The desktop app is rebuilt. On 0.3.4 or older, download it again once. Details
Changes
- Your colour on your units: plumes, sashes and shields. Set Unit Colour to Accents & Cloth in Settings to add cloaks.
- Units run when they're moving fast, and walk at a pace that matches their feet.
- Wheels roll on carts, wagons and siege engines. The Catapult, the Demolisher and the Bone Catapult swing their arms when they fire.
- More things move properly: siege beasts walk and fall instead of sliding like statues, the Tyrant Lizard strides and bites, and the Gryphon Rider flies.
- Banners and flags differ by faction, the attack marker is your faction's sigil, and flyers get rally standards in the air.
- Power runes drop from creeps and bosses: 16 kinds, carved in your faction's script. Their numbers may still change.
- Creeps: new models for many of the old camps, plus spiders, drakes, scorpions and shellbacks where the biome suits them.
- More creeps: coast camps, three crewed sea landmarks and a Chest Mimic. The Ancient Wyrm bites now.
- Trees: new pines, and every biome's forests have been redone.
- Settings: a Depth of Field (3D) option, floating text size and font, and a preview that shows what each setting does.
- Custom Games cards have proper art, splash screens and a More info panel.
- Faction pages show each faction's heroes on a stage, and the home page plays the new trailer.
Fixes
- Distant units stand in their idle pose instead of a T-pose.
- Zooming out in 3D no longer greys out the map.
- Units move at their listed speed, in even steps.
- Builders stand clear of the building they're working on instead of getting shoved off it.
- Gold miners walk into the mine's doorway and come back out of it.
- Groups of idle units no longer sway in perfect time.
- Animation fixes: workers hold their tools, archers aim, capes don't tear, flyers fall cleanly and staffs stay off the ground.
- Seventeen music tracks that never played now do.
- The desktop app can't get stuck on "Checking for updates" any more.
Known issues
- Some new units still animate badly in places. Keep reporting them in this thread.
- Six mounted units keep their old models for now.
- Many hero spells still use a stand-in effect.
