There isn't a ranked queue or a public leaderboard yet. I'd rather say that up front than have this section promise something that isn't there. What does exist is a skill rating, and here's how it works.
Your rating
- Every multiplayer result updates a rating using OpenSkill, the same system Beyond All Reason uses.
- It's tracked separately for 1v1, team games and free-for-alls, because being good at one says little about the others.
- The number you see is the cautious end of the estimate. It climbs as you play even at a flat win rate, because the game grows more sure of you.
- A result only counts once another player in the match confirms it, so one person can't report a fake win.
- Single player games don't touch it.
Your rank shows on your public profile, under /players/ followed by your username.
Balanced lobbies
The host has an Auto-balance button in the lobby. It spreads the highest rated players across teams while keeping the team sizes you chose. Unrated players count as average.
Why no queue
A matchmaking queue with nobody in it is worse than a list of games you can see and join. When there are enough people playing at the same time for a queue to find you a match, I'll look at it again. Leaderboards are being worked on.
Questions about your own rating are welcome here.
